Ten and a half months later . . . volleyball is back! . . .

#20!

You know, in honor of the year of the 100 yr virus...OY! This is what transpired after receiving the mid-Fall, late evening arrival of the jersey number picking email, where a fast email chain of mom's kept submitting their kids' numbers. Liv wasn't home so I texted her for her first choice, it was already taken, second choice, it was already taken, third choice, taken!! Finally, I said..."what about 20?'" thinking to myself, well, 10 is always such a hot number, shouldn't 20 be? Literally, those are super close to verbatim the words that went through my head. And then, after receiving the two shirts, one white, one blue, in January and seeing those two 20's right next to each other I was like, "What have I done?!"

BUT...then, literally just now as I was regurgitating this fascinating bit of my world...it hit me...WHAT??!!  Wait!! This is the absolute best number ever for her!! Why's that, you ask? Maybe some of you are already with me on this...11/20!! CHECK HERE Oh.My.Goodness!! How could I never have thought about that before. I hope she ends up liking #20 and makes that her number always. (-:

She is still just sooooo good! I mean, she's 11 and she held her own with the 13 year old teams across the net from her super well. Her team as a whole didn't really though and they ended up dead last in their first tournament since last March, but hey, we're back and having fun learning the game.

Serving to the 1st place 13 year olds. (-:
She had three in a row of those.

And, finally. If these work out in my roasting tonight it will be an absolute gardening miracle and might mean I dig myself out a root cellar! I just can't believe how long these things waited for me in my fridge. These are the beets I picked from my last haul of the garden in late fall. I recently blogged that I finally cleaned them up after they'd been in my fridge since getting picked but never actually roasted them. Here I am January 30th getting these things roasted. They didn't smell bad upon peeling so I think I'm still good. Will update with an "ugly but delicious" post soon. (-:
