And just like that . . . Summer Baseball . . .

It's been two summers, '16 & '17 since we had any summer baseball.
This fine chap would not hear of it any more and insisted on being enrolled.
And so he is...and we have summer baseball back in our lives.
And his team even lucked out with the state ball team name!

And this boy...after having not played for two summers, had THREE RBI's!!!
And, And...(-:
Two of his three RBI't got him on 1st base, one got him out.
One of them he made it all the way home, though he walked from third to home.
His team won 6-3...William was involved in 4 of the six points made.
I'm sorry but, how many more sports can this boy both enjoy and do well at?
Proud mama!

 William is #4.
He didn't get to pick the number.
#4 is Ben's long time hockey number.
This first game of the season was played at a ball field that Ben's team frequented at William's age.
I made it through this game fine...but just barely near the end.
William did so well, and boy do we miss Ben.

Tomorrow no alarm will be set! . . .

And I might even have a piece of rhubarb pie for breakfast, so there!
(-:

First time in a long time that I've not had to set an alarm for a week day, yay!

I will be going in for a couple hours of work, but at my own leisurely arrival time.

Did you know that some of my alarm times this past year have been: 6:10a.m., 6:15a.m., 6:23a.m. and then I'd return from the 6:00-ish carpool drive and sometimes go back and set a 7:10a.m. alarm...I am NOT a morning person by nature. The 6:23a.m. alarm would be for a 6:30a.m. take off, haha! My carpool sharer came to know that if changes to the carpool needed to be made she could not email me at 6:05a.m. saying, "Let me know if we need to be there before 6:45a.m.," when I had thought she'd be arriving at 6:30a.m...I DO NOT spend time on my email between 6:23 wake up and 6:30 take off and can NOT tell you if I needed you here at 6:30 when you planned to come at 6:45...that must be dealt with the day before...that only happened once. (-:

Anyway, we made it through another school year of go, go, go and tomorrow it's slow, slow, slow.

I've made two rhubarb pies so far this year with my long-held rhubarb.  I've used this recipe: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.landolakes.com/amp/recipe/17417/crumb-top-rhubarb-pie/ and just didn't add the pecans because they're a bit on the pricey side. The second time I made it I added two beaten eggs to the rhubarb mixture as my mom was over and said that's the only way she makes rhubarb pie...makes it a bit creamier, it was a good addition.

So that's that. Rhubarb pies and no alarms.
Nice summer so far!

Postscript:
I was up at 7:20...

School's Out & Around the Yard . . .

For the youngest two.  The high schooler goes through middle next week and the college gal chose to go all summer.

Liv had fun at a horse-riding birthday party last weekend.

William had fun last weekend medaling in all four of his events at States! 4th Place in the 1600, 4th Place in the 800, 3rd Place in the 4x100 relay and 8th Place in the long jump that he jumped at two meets before states. (-:

Love this hockey playing track star and that I lucked into a couple pictures taken by a parent with a "real" camera.  Wow, what a difference a real camera makes!

That's a lot of bling!
Way to go, William!

Then, Monday of the last week of school was the final field trip.  One that each of her older siblings took in third grade since they all had the same teacher.  Perfect weather for paddle boating, hiking, scavenger hunting, fishing (no catch )-:) and playground play. So grateful for being able to maintain a flexible schedule that still allows to join in on these special times.

Liv's not a fan of pictures, her smile is her..."Ok, take one quick and move on..." look.
😃

Livia's well-worn third grade shoes.
I loved these shoes...Red, glitter, high-tops, are you kidding?? Awesome!

Ben's confirmation day clematis continues to thrive with great beauty!
💜

As does "Lisa's Lupine" which is my lupine that Lisa gave me.
This thing reaches to the top of my rib cage this year (I don't know how to estimate measurements, what do we think that could be, around three and a half feet maybe?? (-:).
I brought this from our old house. Everything I brought from our old house is thriving!

Thrilled that I took a picture of this long-standing peony (it was here when we lived here all those years ago) before today's rains, yay! It looks and smells beautiful.

This needs to be a painting...psst...mom...😉

Also...I continue to be in awe that I am blessed with the ability to find joy, beauty and delight in life after the walk of these past three years...and, I can't believe it's been three years...

"Our God is so good, so strong and so mighty there's nothing our God can not do!"
