The Peonies

Oh...Um...Yeah...

They're currently fighting for their life right now in Pure Michigan's record lows and, might I add, snowflakes as I was tucking them in this evening!

Maybe the Hellebores then, their lovely early blooms surely won't disappoint . . . 

Hmmph!

Also all wrapped up, haha!

As are the kiwi and grape vines, the backyard Mother's Day peony that Kate and Ma gave me one year and the herb pot that had some delights peeking out over the weekend. Had no idea some of those would survive the winter and they sure better not get wiped out tonight or the rest of this chilly week.

Ah, Spring gardens in MI!

Today I planted some seeds (tomorrow it's gonna be 27 degrees, ha!) . . .

 This evening I planted:

Green Onion Seeds

Spinach Seeds

Pea Seeds

(two different kinds)

and I transplanted some Iris.

That

was a lovely, lovely, evening in my book!

These pretty colors are spring colored M&M's, those candy melt circle things on top of square pretzels. They were pretty fun to make and so much fun to look at. (-:

I used Michael's craft store chocolate melts and they worked perfectly. This recipe calls for a specific kind, mine worked great. Also, to note, there are hardly any pink or purple M&M's in those bags. Strange discovery. Fun little treat and splash of color!

Ahhhh....it . was . warm . and . sunny . today...Ahhhh

I'm hoping to resolve those rusty nail heads and wearing out paint this year.

Let's look past them at this point because . . . Ahhhhhh . . . it was such a delightfully delicious day!

My tiny front porch is just perfect for sitting in the shade. I have a back patio which sits in full sun and the various shades I've had over the years have broken. If I can find a cushion to fit that there pictured chair, the front porch will likely be my main sitting spot. Joy!

Today . . . ! ! !

I swam my first mile in absolute ages, and I mean ages!

I swam through a little bit of last fall but the teaching schedule bogged me down and then the loss of lifeguard availability on Fridays just zapped my last chance for at least one day/week. And, last fall though, I wasn't doing a mile. We still had a lingering Covid deal with having to register for just 45 minute swims and I gave stretching time precedence over finishing a mile with no stretching.

Anyhoo . . . my Tuesday morning/early afternoon teaching gig is on Spring Break today so...I swam a mile! Yee-haw!

And then, can you even believe it, on the very same day as a glorious swim...

This Happened. . .

Oh, what a deliciously delightful day!

(And there's not even been one little note on this hear good ol' blog about how I managed to take us on a road trip down to Texas over our Spring Break two weeks ago now. It was a great trip, and amazing weather, neat discoveries with Livia and William as we visited my brother's wives families new lake house in Tool, Tx and then their house in Austin. We'll see if I eventually throw some pics up or just slide into our next season.)
