Well...Hello There...
There is really no good reason at 4:55p.m. on a Thursday afternoon, with this to do and that to do and this draining event and that draining event, and, and, and...that I should be over here tossing on pictures of a praying mantis in my zebra grass.
But you know what?
Maybe that's exactly why I should be over here in this little space of mine posting pictures of a praying mantis in my zebra grass!

One of these things is not like the other . . .
Oh my goodness...
All summer, well since I kinda late June threw all the zinnia seeds from last year's mailbox zinnia garden behind the house (in my hand-tilled row since I couldn't get the roto-tiller working, grrrr), I've been watching this sunflower grow right along with them and have been trying to come up with the best title ever for this "Odd Man Out." To me it seems like he's the black sheep of the family, the Cousin Itt or something, I crack up every time I look over there...while simultaneously having a little twitch inside because it destroys the symmetrical line of the beautiful zinnias. But it's so funny to me it gets to stay until it's bloom makes some nice seed for next year.
Ok, that's probably enough fun for the night!

13 . . . A Week Ago! . . .
Wow...where has an entire month (on this blog) gone?
Recording took a pause I guess while I prepped for, and then we took, an awesome trip to the Rocky Mountain National Park and quickly followed by...even more importantly (-: . . . our annual camping trip with a great group of friends on Lake Michigan where this cool kid turned
13!
