"What Time is it in the US?" . . .

Yep, that was my Google search tonight.

After watching an online high school band "concert"
and
Finally getting struck by the "Make that vegetable soup already" urge.

Why was that my google search tonight?
Because for the life of me, I couldn't think of how to search for the current time in San Diego.
Here's my search result...(couldn't really line it up here, we'll move forward nonetheless (-:) . . .

8:26 PM
Monday, January 25, 2021 (EST)
Time in Washington, DC
  7:26 PMChicago (CST)
6:26 PMDenver (MST)
6:26 PMPhoenix (MST)
5:26 PMLos Angeles (PST)
4:26 PMAnchorage (AKST)
3:26 PMHonolulu (HST)

Why oh why was I googling such things at 8:26 p.m.?
Well.., 'cause I planned to drop in on a half hour vocalizing session led by an esteemed California voice teacher. Great way to get some fresh material for my own students and do a little singing myself. It was great, but a 9:00p.m. start time is really a wee bit late for full voice opera sounds. Haha!

But first . . . the online band concert . . .
They're sure giving it a whirl trying to keep the kids involved with William's school district having decided (in contrast to every school district I think in a 500 mile radius from us) to remain online exclusively this year. Oh wait...they just said they might let the K-3's begin school in March...

Fortunately, and especially with everything I've experienced so far, William seems to be doing pretty well under these isolating, strange circumstances. I am beyond grateful!

Then next . . . I was finally struck with the urge to make this soup I'd been intending to get to for at least a week and a half. I'd take another little step every now and then, like set some ingredients out on the counter, another day set the dried herbs out, another day buy another bunch of zucchini in case mine went bad, oh and another bunch of celery...anyway...today, 20 minutes before singing time myself said..."Make the soup!" . . .

Though it says Soup Mix, there's nothing in the bag except the bean mix, which is what I wanted.  It caught my eye when I was searching high and low for coarsely ground cornmeal for my Polenta Soup.

You know, just finishing up some soup cookin' at 9:40p.m.!
January schedule. (-:

Didn't actually need the new zucchini or celery that I bought but was glad to be "better safe than sorry." (-:

The back of the bag.
I made it exactly as is this time.
And Ooooo, it's a nice one!
You may want to add a little bit of this or that to spice it up at the end, but it stands on its own as a fresh veggie soup just as easily. Great little winter dish.
