While eating dinner tonight I suddenly noticed Charlie Brown had appeared on the chalkboard wall! Liv, William and I have gravitated to having the same seats at the table and mine faces the chalkboard wall directly, always fun to stop and look closely at the wall 'cause you just never know who's writing and drawing on it. Will likely give it a big wash next weekend to start some holiday posts, we'll see . . . (-:
Not too many deep thoughts rumbling around today after a fun Thanksgiving weekend with Lara and the kids, including an attempt to see a drive thru Christmas light show last night, arriving a half hour before it's 10p.m. closing time with every artery into the lights jammed about a mile out. Then, my making a judgement call to swing around the cars sitting in the middle of the main intersection to get through and having the red, white and blue lights of the neighborhood police nudge me over to the side of the road and the friendly gentleman suggesting to me I shouldn't do that in the future. Sure was a light show with the two cop cars, just not the lights we were looking for, yikes! No ticket, whew! Most of the weekend after Thanksgiving was just nice, slow and relaxed...well as relaxed for me as I can tolerate, with no snow again and mid-forties weather I got some tree pruning done and rocks raked off the front edge of the lawn that get sprayed up from our dirt road maintenance and the kids hauled the myriad of gourds and pumpkins around the yard as Fall decorations to the back corner of the yard. Hoping the animals will get rid of them over the winter for me.
Simple Gratitude
Shopping with both the girls yesterday, we really haven't done that more than a handful of times ever for some reason, all three of us. What a fun and cherished time that was.
Having the provisions to shop with the girls. What a gift to be blessed as I am with a small but working budget to take care of my family and enjoy a splurge for the kids every now and then.
