So . . . tomorrow is Election Day, again.
This year it has just arrived.
The fourth year.
IT, has also just arrived, that time again, not just the voting day as my familiar readers know.
Meanwhile, the whole country is in some massive tizzy about the whole vote and the "Sky is Falling" panic about the outcome.
I've got a few sweet, precious piano students beyond stressed out about the results. The poor dears.
This one specific time in our country's history is the biggest deal we've ever seen? That's how it's often being hyped. Stop, think . . . breath . . . how about take a minute and read the book of Job . . .breath again, and be grateful that your life isn't anywhere near Job's 42 chapters. Really, try reading it. You might wanna "let it go" after that.
When I consider the loss I've had,
of my beloved intact family,
of my beloved son Ben,
this past year missing Harrison with great worry and concern about his well-being and care,
Job's book resonates...I haven't lived Job's 42 chapters
So I'll choose to find joy and gratitude.
Go vote, maybe you've done that already, and then . . . what about this . . .go spread some joy!
What?
What kind of ludicrous jibber jabber is that?
Who goes around, "spreading joy?"
Well, how about being intentional about a simple smile and friendly "hello," to your grocer, or anyone?
Have you ever asked the name of that one guy or gal who's always taking the carts in...and then used it when you see him at the store? "Hi, Ha," I say with great enthusiasm each time I see this sweet older, asian man always out doing carts in the rain, the snow and hot summer days. I'll wave across the store and call, "Hi, Ha!" He always smiles a big ol' and waves back, sometimes we'll have a small exchange, sometimes not. It always makes MY day.
Ever just tell someone you like how their hair's done that day?
What about their cool shoes?
Have you offered to help your neighbor with something simple or a little chat about this and that?
How about giving someone a little supportive encouragement?
"You got this!" can go a long way...for real.
So, tomorrow's plan.
Vote...and?
I'll be both voting and remembering that election day also brings with it heartbreaking memories of great loss, and then, I'm going to find a way to spread joy somewhere.
Join Me.
Simple Gratitude:
That just as I was about to pull out of the driveway, at 7:30p.m. tonight to fill my gas cans up again, the DTE guy pulled up to fix my electrical issue. If I'd been gone it would've been night three on the generator! Considering he'd been "dispatched" at 8:45a.m. this morning, hahaha, I'm SO Grateful we crossed paths.
Grateful for the sunshine filled day and the ability to have a flexible schedule to wait for DTE guys for half my teaching day, able to handle make up lessons during the lunch hour and later dates.
