You know how mom's jump up a LOT during meal time to get this one or that one something? Well, tonight, as I saw our dinner winding down, I jumped up for someone's something, got it and gave it to them. Then, without missing a step, I grabbed the matches and snuck out to make a fire. Nobody came looking for a good 45 minutes! Then it was people sliding down slides, jumping over decks, whoopin' and hollerin' and generally invading my peace. (-: Everyone ended up (even me) having a great time around the fire until almost 10p.m.

(and, no...I'm not hiding behind a tree enjoying my fire, just thought I'd give some perspective as to where the fire pit is... (-:)

Got those sitting stumps from a neighbor's huge tree that fell down a few years ago and took the rocks from my garden beds last week. We cleared out this area last Fall and I've been bringing ferns from the woods over and transplanting things from around the yard. Turning into a neat space (at no extra cost to us, yippie!).
T-15 minutes

Was a great respite and gave me all the energy (well, most of the energy) I needed to keep four, jumpy kids from tripping/falling/burning/sitting/scorching themselves in the fire!!
