O.k., that title reads really badly for a post recapping one's anniversary. So let's state for the record that the title of this blog pertains to the second note in this post and NOT to my marriage!! (-: It's just too great of a phrase to type only once.
So...today's the day...14 years of marriage. Wow, time flies...and, at times...it doesn't. (-: Since I have rehearsals and performances with the DSO all week I decided to get a sitter (thanks Kate!), "sneak" SP into my dress rehearsal tonight and if it didn't go too long, catch a bite to eat afterward. To know SP is to know that he would LOVE to hear Beethoven's 9th (we met singing it together with the DSO 14 1/2 years ago) and neither of us even knew of "The Game(s?)" that were on tonight until the waiter said that was probably why the restaurant was empty. Anyway, your average guy isn't supposed to be just hanging around watching dress rehearsals in Orchestra Hall so I mentioned quite a few times that he might try to be as inconspicuous as possible. So what is one of the first things I see as I get cozy on my wooden riser? A bright orange dot shining in the mezzanine section followed by a GIANT flash of light!!! And, oh no, not just once. He BROUGHT THE CAMERA!! Time flies...and, at times...it doesn't. (-:
One of the contraband photos!
Rehearsal did end earlier than expected so we headed out to a Detroit favorite, the Traffic Jam, and enjoyed a few nibbles. And, yes...one of the selections was "Help Me Elvis, I'm In A Pickle." I couldn't believe something like that actually exists and couldn't resist giving it a try. It was good!! As an aside, though I didn't have it tonight, their meatloaf is out of this world!

Lara was surfing Beatles tunes over on the playlist, discovered Elvis doing "Hey Jude" and wanted to post it. So, go check it out on the side bar.
How can one not take a picture of this guy?
(for some reason couldn't post these words below the pic, odd)

Well I guess Erik is a typical guy, cause when I asked for a date night on Wednesday, I got the game is tonight. But he did delay watching the beginning so we could take the kids over to the library, so I guess I'll give him a little bit of credit :) Glad you all got out for your anniversary! Congratulations!
