You just never know what you might find in Job . . .

The Book of Job has caught my attention since I believe it was June 2015.
If not June it was certainly within those first summer months of that year.
The Book of Job landed open on my bed as I kind of plopped my bible down haphazardly on day.
I'd never read the full Book before and just had a rough idea that Job had lived through some troubles.
Then, that summer, I read it for the first time.
When, wowza, I was living through some troubles, shall we say.
I think I've made my way all the way through the Book now four times since that year and with some bible study on it with a group at church, the helpful information in the Lutheran Study Bible and reading, and re-reading, when I know I just was not taking anything in...that Book is still sometimes a mystery but also starting to click together a bit.

Tonight, I was just struck by Elihu saying "He does great things that we can not comprehend," in chapter 37, verse 5. There are just so many chapters (42) and verses and words and justifying and accusing and wondering  and condemning and confusion and so much being said and then, 37 chapters in, Elihu slips it in there . . .

"He does great things that we can not comprehend."

Not sure what else to say right now, except just taking in that Truth and looking forward to seeing how the reading of the last five chapters will go for me this time around. The Lord is about to answer Job and in the last chapter, Job, who just lived through tragic trial after trial after trial is about to give glory to God as well as confession and repentance for his human sinful nature that slipped out as he struggled with all that had befallen him for 41 chapters.

Does that not catch your attention?

Spend some time in Job.
You might find it can put a different spin on your time here on earth.
In a good way!
