And low and behold, I look up at the little corner clock on my computer screen to make sure I will fit this post in before the calendar flips to 11/21...and it's 11:20p.m.! (-:
Busy week had me up this morning starting Livia's requested ice cream cake!
It was just a great, relaxed day of slowly getting ready for Livia's friends to come over this evening to celebrate her turning 12 and bopping outside occasionally to do some last "winter's coming" tasks.
One of those tasks had me finding a birthday bouquet for myself! (-:
I was hacking down withered, drooping mum plants and found these buried underneath.
Best birthday bouquet pretty much ever!
Later morning than I planned, I ran out for a few more party needs and found the perfect card that expressed me to Livia exactly as I'd want and the inside is even better. Then, I managed an impromptu take out lunch stop at the Mediterranean Restaurant that served me a fantastic 50th birthday dinner last year. (That was a great birthday year too!)
12 Years Old!
I just LOVE having a child that still younger than 13.
I've really, really enjoyed this gal's under teen years and am glad to have one more!
So, the ganache didn't turn out as smooth and creamy as expected but the chocolate cake layers, the requested cookies & cream ice cream layer, topped with the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream tasted delightfully delicious just the same. Loved Livia's ice cream cake idea!
I get these Towne Club sodas for occasional weekend treats while we watch a movie together. She's started a collection of all their fun and tasty (to her (-:) colors.
We ended our birthday day with Livia's chosen trip to a local old school arcade (opened in the 1970's) where I got to go back in time and bring back my 12 year old self's time playing Ms. Pac Man, a quarter at a time (50 cents now) at the local malls movie theater. I made it pretty darn far for not having played in likely 35 years, just 10,000 points below the high score and super fun!
Livia and her friends redeeming all their game tickets as we closed out our night.
One of my favorite birthdays!
