And today we had a birthday!
William's been into matchbox cars this summer, so he got four more on his cake. One of his No-Tech July activities was to find as many matchbox cars as he could throughout the house. For every 10 cars he found I offered to buy him one new one....he found FORTY cars, and others found more!! Now, if only I hadn't thrown out what tracks we'd gotten when Ben and Harrison were little. Why did I throw them out? Well, I don't think they were used as tracks once, ever. But they sure were used a ton of times to whip and hurt each other with, out the door they went...yep...we're back! (-:
But, I digress...yep...again...b.a.c.k.!

He wanted the "W."
He at a third of the piece, if that.

He got a walking stick from Copper Harbor and loved it.
He's usually our guy that finds a great walking stick when we're out and about so this was just a perfect find when we were in the Yoop last week.
So, yes. We're back. Another wildly successful No-Tech (Tech-Free? Can't remember my term) July. We were even able to sneak another partial week in by doing our U.P. trip the first week of August. Haha, you should have seen some children's faces when they started putting two and two together about our travel dates, hysterical (to me). In the Yoop we don't do tech at the cottage since there is limited internet and, while I think they figured out that the t.v. in the place works (I usually unplug it upon our arrival and in the past I might have said it didn't work), they never asked to turn it on. We do let them do tech in the car though, I'm not completely nuts! Although I must say that kinda kills me with all the beautiful scenery but c'mon, you show me a 10 year old boy that wants to look at hills with trees and rocky shorelines...anyway, I might chat more about no-tech later, couple things to note, but now I'm stressed to get to bed because I hope to swim in the a.m. if it's not storming out. I've pretty much gotten used to the fact that it's not going above the 50-ish degree mark in the mornings this summer (swam one morning at 48 degrees!!) . . . ramble, ramble, ramble...
On we go . . .
