Serene & Peaceful . . .

Whoa, wait . . . how'd we get to mid-June already??!!

Not really by being very serene & peaceful I'll tell you that much. Been a crazy few weeks of wrapping up the school year schedule, working on the wildest summer teaching schedule I've had to figure out before and fitting in two remaining volleyball tournaments, one in Columbus and one, this past week, a road trip to Orlando. Um yeah...not serene & peaceful. Filled with good things but no...not serene and peaceful.
(-:

But, what brought me back tonight was . . .
What an absolute JOY it was for me to have two different people that came to the house today tell me my home, yard and neighborhood were serene & peaceful.
I
Love
That
I
Was
Placed
Back
Here
Six years ago . . .
a place that, when you first turn off the busier commuter "Trail" to enter our area you immediately are washed with the open expanse of quiet, beautiful farmland that just beckons you to exhale a sigh of peace.

I just love that people feel that from my space.
Even with my ceiling repaired but unpainted for almost a year now. Worn living room carpeting. A kitchen that dates back to the 1970's. A patio with some awesome red, Kroger sale furniture but nothing else, and on and on with all the things that are nowhere near the design and remodel shows that Livia and I watched for hours after she'd play volleyball for six hours and then we'd beat the 100+ degree Florida heat in our hotel room for the rest of the day. Ha!
With all those "imperfections" people still come in and feel a sense of serenity and peace.
That means more to me than ANY kitchen remodel anytime!

Picked from my "behind the garage wall" garden a couple weekends ago. I made freezer jam for the first time.
That was the second bowl that size I'd picked and then I left town for a week of a few more bowl fulls I'm sure getting ripened. This picture fills my heart beyond imagination! (even if I still can't find a place to put that yellow bench I got from Eva's house last summer (-:).

I think this might be my favorite picture from the Florida trip . . .
100   100   100
That's temperature gauge had a 103 on it earlier in the week too!
That was while sitting in yet another traffic jam, I think in Georgia, maybe northern Florida, all such a blur...everyone and their mother was driving north Saturday afternoon at the start of our drive home after volleyball ended at 11a.m. I'm quite sure they're all leaving the state to be able to breath again...way...too...hot!

So, there we have it, a quick June update.
Forgot to tell one student I was in Florida and they showed up for a lesson, another student came for their first summer lesson, as scheduled a couple weeks ago, but I was having lunch after finishing a round of gardening (likely in the no longer named, "fend for yourself garden" haha, and completely forgot! They arrived to a not serene & peaceful greeting from Alli barking wildly at the door (I always have her in the bedroom for lessons) and my hair wildly atop my head dressed in not teaching clothes. I've not done either of those before! Started fresh with a swim this morning having arrived home last night after 8 p.m. and feel pretty good about having the rest of the summer in order now, or at least pretty much!
