Some new-to-me bits from the garden!
I've had this oregano plant in the yard since the first time I lived here in the early 2000's. It moved itself while I was away and kind of spread through a patch of grass. I've never, ever used it for anything, just always though growing herbs was fun, but oregano never made it to dry and I just never cooked things that called for it fresh I guess. I finally cut it down last year and moved a little clump closer to my house gardening area where it catches my attention and so for the first time, I picked it with plans to dry it, go me! Also, garlic scapes on the right, what??!! Got a great garlic crop going this year (none last year) and as a result these scapes recently popped up. I've heard of them so knew to pick them. But, later today I'll be googling, "What to do with garlic scapes.
And that...is a great start to a late June morning in my book!
