Above the kitchen sink. 💜
I kid you not, before looking over into my Encyclopedia of Wikipedia...I was about to theorize that perhaps Valentine's Day was plopped right into the middle of February for those of us into our third month of cold and grey. What a better way to walk through yet another "no gardening" or roaming around the yard to sit with a cup of coffee and listen to the birds (without a coat on)...than by splattering Love and Hearts all over the house! (-:
But...as it turns out...my hypothesis was dramatically off...
The Feast of Saint Valentine was established by Pope Gelasius I in AD 496 to be celebrated on February 14 in honour of Saint Valentine of Rome, who died on that date in AD 269.[7][8] The day became associated with romantic love in the 14th and 15th centuries when notions of courtly love flourished, apparently by association with the "lovebirds" of early spring.
Also, I think I've said, "cold and grey" in far too many posts so far this winter. I really should get myself an outdoor winter hobby. It's just that...well, I've not been a fan of the cold this year! Ha!
