September Selfies & Ben . . .

 Yep!
You read that right...September Selfies to kick of the month . . .and we'll even find Ben in here too. 💜

You see, I was deleting photos from the ol' phone recently and I came upon an album called, "Selfies." Yes...as a matter of fact, I am from the '70's and really have no idea how to work this thing called a "phone" that really is a mini-computer and well...while dating a computer engineer in college, I managed to still drop my most basic, starter, computer programming class. So, whoo-hoo...a "Selfies" album.

2,268 Photos on the ol' phone.
35 Videos.
10 Selfies.

What, I asked myself?
10 Selfies?
I took Selfies?
I asked myself?

Well...yeah...turns out this past summer, UP waterfalls, sunsets and all, I took 8 of the 10 Selfies.
In 2020.
I've had the ol' phone since what, 2014 or so.
10 Selfies...8 this summer.
Ha!

Well, enough jibber jabber, eh?
Shall we see what we got here?
Hahahaha!

Hahahahaha!
Starting strong, don'tcha think?
😂
Yep...definitely from the 1970's!
Wow, get a clue, girl!
(-:

Awww, how sweet, attempting to be normal.
But then I just want to critique it and discover that I far prefer the funny ones! (rolling eyeball emoji that STILL doesn't exist in blogger).

Ok, now here's my little ol' self thinking a selfie with the sunset this summer would be a spectacular idea. At this point I am beside myself that people make their entire Instagrams and/or Facebooks with these things. What in the world people. How many times do people want to see you plastering yourself everywhere. Three and a half selfies in (remember, one was only eyeballs, haha), I believe we've all had plenty! . . . though I must say . . . I do think the lighting on my arm and side of face is quite nice, hahahaha . . . eyeball rolling emoji!

Ok, back to winter 2020.
Sleeping Bear Dunes.
So, let's remember . . .8 selfies from this past summer.
I boldly stepped out of my norm and posted 4 of them.
Stop by for coffee and we'll check out the other 4. Haha!
So, #9.
Winter of 2020.
Kim Kardashian watch out.
I'm going to catch up to your selfie numbers surely by 2053!
Oh wait . . . Kim Kardashian West . . .😉
Hey, I know my pop culture, lay off.

But my friends,
Now,
We approach the #1,
the first selfie ever taken on my phone.
My Friends.

Man.
This can both bring joy and break a mom's heart in the very same second.
I can remember this day, like I'm breathing the cool, bright Chicago air right this minute and Ben saying he wanted to get a picture in front of the Shedd Aquarium on our mother/13 yr old son quick trip to Chicago, and me . . . NOT a fan of being in front of the camera and rarely putting myself there . . . saying "Wait, I wanna get in there too!"
2014
We watched the Los Angeles Kings play the New York Rangers in the Stanley Cup finals in our hotel room. We touched stingrays at the Shedd. We ate deep dish pizza. We walked past a Survivor player (Spencer from Chicago!!) and Ben gave me the green light to run back after him and his two 20-something friends like an old-lady goof ball and say that I thought he should have won that season ('cause I really, really thought he should have!), we went to the top of the Sears Tower (which evidently they'd like me to consider calling it the Willis Tower now but I can't) and had fun taking in the interesting people around us at we waited in line, and we took a boat ride through downtown on the Chicago River (which I just googled to find out it's name...aptly named, I'd say (-:). We travelled there to and from on the Megabus which was a great deal, despite a break down while we waited to leave in Chicago, and we got front seats upper deck, with phone chargers, just like we angled for with great focus and determination (and no shoving of fellow passengers).
My friends.
Go take a selfie with your kids today.
Or anyone you just love with all your heart.
