Happy Sunday, Confirmation! . . .

It was rescheduled for today from its original May 3rd date.
We all wore masks and sat distanced in pews at the earliest. hour. ever. with just the confirmation families. Different kinda confirmation, but just as meaningful as ever.

William's confirmation verse:
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4

An excerpt from his Statement of Faith:
Through the valley of the shadow of death, our Lord comes to us. Through times of grief and sorrow, we need his encouragement. With temptation we need the Lord to rescue and deliver us. This is why Christ took on our flesh, to live through the struggles, to live through the law and fulfill it. We do not have a God who sits idl and watches us suffer. No, our God comes and takes part of our struggles and lifts the burdens off of our shoulders because He knows how it is to live in our sinful world.

From me today during his portion of the confirmation service:
May the Lord bless you and keep you, William.
May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and Give. You. Peace.

 God Bless You, William.

Today and Always.

Love, Mom
