"Happy Birthday" songs are sometimes upped a notch!
Had a nice birthday dinner out with the grandparents tonight after SP's choir concert, some of the choir folk were there, so naturally, the newly minted 10 year old needs to stand up in the middle of everyone and be serenaded, (for the record, I would have been MORTIFIED at 10, H seemed to handle it pretty well). Too bad for the video quality, it went from my iPhone to iPhoto to my desktop to iMovie for some cropping and it appears a lot was lost in translation along the way.
Then tonight, I went through our newly minted 10 year old's folder to get ready for a new school week and turned up all these gems. What a guy! These days he's also LOVING chess (got a nice chess set from us for his birthday, made in Poland, hand carved...yes, a piece broke the first night...), just read The Hobbit and has started Lord of the Rings, could play computer games for twelve straight hours if we let him and loves playing basketball. Oh, and while he doesn't profess to loving it, he's quite the piano player having just started this past Fall.
There's our wet-headed guy now. Friday night he had returned from a fun trip with a couple buddies to a local indoor water park, had cake and ice cream at about 10:00p.m. and a late-night sleepover. In this house, that's our standard 10-year old birthday party, first one where we actually pay for a party out of the house, double digits ya know!
