Bullseye . . .

Well, that was a new experience!

A couple Friday afternoons ago SP and I went to a shooting range.
A friend of mine thought it would make a great Christmas gift from us wives for the four of us to go out shooting and have dinner together afterwards. (This is my friend's Grandfather) (-:

Well, as time does, time flew by and the expiration date hovered before the four of us could get together, so SP and I headed out ourselves.  One 40 minute chat with a retired police sergeant later (who subtley dropped that he had some training "with the Israelis"), we were in a VERY small room with VERY loud guns going off everywhere. Yep, even with the cool earmuffs.

Did you know shell casings fly really far from the gun?  Did you know if you hover in a corner at least eight feet away from a guy blaming away on a 45, you're pretty sure not to get hit by a shell casing??? (-:  We were firing a 22 pistol...whose shell casings are humorously small compared to 45s...but they still are shocking to get hit in the face by!

Overall I'd have to say that I'm glad I tried it, I would go again if someone insisted (o.k., asked...), but I didn't rank the event as fun. It was a bit too serious this first time out to get a "fun" ranking from me.

AND . . .

Both of us are quite certain we were the one to hit the bullseye!
