I mean, I've taken in some absolute dandies in the line of sunsets this summer, pretty sure I posted at least Lake Michigan and hopefully a Lake Superior one up here from 2012, and sunsets out in the open skies of the West, my oh my (but, it looks like I just might never share those...what is up with that??!!). But my friends, this one here is from our little lake, a mere bike ride away from the house.
Lara and I were thrilled to share this one together on Labor Day after biking up for the last night of the season around 7:00p.m. We just had to go for one last swim and it was delightful. Well, except for the little remembered by us fact that the underwater creatures are far more active once dusk hits and the blazing sun of the day sinks. I swear I swam by a four foot in diameter turtle and the fish... get outta here, they were everywhere. Serves me right for wearing goggles!
AND...
If you wanna look a little farther than your backyard, then one of these years you really need to get down to the Detroit Jazz Festival which also happens over Labor Day Weekend. We've gone many years in a row now and always park in the Greektown area so as to enjoy a ride on the People Mover down to the Festival over in Hart Plaza. We always stop at the Ren Cen because that's such a cool building to check out, and then walk up the block a bit to get to the music. We've never had one incident with "Detroit" in all the years we've gone.
This year we went up the street a bit from Hart Plaza to check out the jazz stage in Campus Martius Park. You'd think the kids were watching fireworks:
And, wow, how 'bout all those links, eh? Six, that's a record for me in one blog I'm fairly certain. Slow night...after a non.stop.day...while dealing with the remaining stuffed head/ache of this dog gone cold, ugh! Anyway, if you're so inclined you can learn a whole bunch about the "D." Hahaha, probably not too many people so inclined.
