Lost power with the first clap of thunder last night around 6p.m. and had it restored today around 4:30p.m. We were busy enough that I thought it was a refreshing break from everyone wanting computers/tv and am busy contemplating a "no-tech" August...everyone is horrified!!

We had corn by candlelight.
Wasn't really necessary to have the candles lit but I think we've mostly lost power later in the night or when it was darker earlier and the kids distinctly associate losing power with lighting that candelabra while dining. Couldn't disappoint!
Did some book reading by flashlight.
Not sure the giant, pop-up T-Rex book was the best choice for a
"no power" night!!!
Then we have these two jokers! They thought they were pretty nifty still having some connection with technology having their DS's and all. Then...their batteries ran out. (-:
I was pleased to wake this morning to find them having pulled out the chess set and putting those minds to work on Queens and Rooks rather than on carts and Marios!
