I cannot even express the utter delight this brings me.
It is a feeling impossible to put to words.
I know, crazy, right?
Lunch was beans, beans, beans as I picked them whilst swatting mosquitos from my pole-bean teepee and then I sauted up both of those yellow squash, all the onions and four seeded roma tomatoes which were, as always, sprinkled with kosher salt, pepper and garlic powder before being laid in a small pool of butter and olive oil. One serving I stirred in a dollop of Aldi's basil pesto and the other serving I ate plain and loved them both. Ahhhh....
Yes, the pole bean teepee was a success!
Not the best pic really but see all those clumps of beans in the top left? Those clumps of beans were laced throughout the entire teepee both inside and out and such fun to discover as I pushed leaves aside. If I wasn't getting attacked by mosquitos at the time (86 and humid), it would have been all the more fun. (-: But, when one is dressed to teach and in the middle of one's teaching day, one can't just go spraying Off all over themselves!
Yet again, not the best pic, but it'll have to do. I also have two roma tomato plants plopped inside the base of the teepee in the corner of that fence it sits inside. Had no idea if they'd produce tomatoes, let alone ripped down there, but they did. Picked two today.
Someday I might even retell my story in which I played the role of Mrs. McGregor to my very own wily Peter Rabbit earlier this summer. Why yes, that white board at the bottom of the fence does in fact play a role in the story! Did you know rabbits are actually quite cunning and can think of next steps to take once their previous steps were foiled? I never would have imagined! (-:
