These are not from this year! . . .

And, I'm not complaining one bit!

Pretty sure my seven readers know we moved, and I'll tell ya what, to move all the stuff from a home that's been lived in by all our people for twelve years...well...I'm not complaining at all that we got to do that in 40 degree weather and sunshine as opposed to -12 and 12 inches of snow.  Winter, schminter is my attitude this year, I'll gladly welcome you back next year.

Another AWESOME result of this year's (so far) mild winter is that I was able to transplant lots of my favorite plants to our new house through out the fall, well into late fall even.  Each time I'd move a set of plants (the owners of our house left for Indonesia in June so I was in the clear) I'd think, "Well, cool...got some of my favorites, now if the freeze comes, that'll be that."  Then the freeze wouldn't come and I'd do another run of plants.  Did about four total runs and got every set of plants I cared to get and pine trees I've been nursing since they were the size of a stick (they're about a foot and  a half now, ha).

I also "transplanted" the collection of Lake Superior shale I've been bringing home for many years now (some VERY big pieces) that I'd been making a walk way with in the back of our house and loads of beach rocks that I'd been edging a few gardens with.

I like my yards.
(-:

One funny story about this process...and, wow, I'm glad I can type the phrase, "one funny story" because "funny" hasn't been on the tip of my tongue for quite some time...during my first trip to transplant plants at the house we moved to, in October, I was doing the planting on the side of the shed and the neighbor came out.  Well...even I'll admit, it is strange for some lady to be gardening at a vacant house so I figured I better go say "hi" and explain that, at that point at least, I had plans to buy this house and even though it's not settled yet, thought I'd get some plants over here before the big freeze in case everything works out for me to move in.

So, I go over to the neighbor with one of my typically wacky conversations and the guy says..."I know you." and I'm like, "What?  You do?" and he says, "Yeah, about 12 years ago you came to my house and borrowed a shovel to move plants from this house to your new house."  !!!!   You see, and my seven readers know this...we've moved back to the house we lived in before the one we just moved from...and I'm bringing back some of the plants I took way back when!

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

That's awesome!! HA!!!
And I'm glad for you that this winter is in your court. I've been loathing it, but you made me feel a little more lenient about it. I can say that, now, when there's white on the ground this morning.
