October . . .

Is almost over and yet, didn't it just start??!!

Above is my sole October decoration for the year...and I just put it up today!
Ha!
(Good thing I accidentally stumbled upon it in one of the art piles)

I've been busy walking around the house not knowing where to start with everything.
Painting trim/doors (Aunt S., we went with the dark trim!!! (-:), laundry, cooking, cleaning, figuring out yet another way to get the kids to clean more, practicing for the first of two exciting auditions this year, and on and on.

In my travels around the house trying to figure out what to do first, I discovered this gem on Pinterest.
(Did you catch that?  Yep...I was sitting around on the computer, haha.)
Filled with half Dawn dish soap and half white vinegar. Keep it in the shower for a scrub down whenever you need. Oh.My.Goodness!! Pure GENIUS!  It really does an amazing job and it is sooooo easy.

AND . . .

Don't be frightened, just had a busy day chopping lots of onions on Monday!  I finally resorted to the goggles trick again after blazing my eyes out the last few times chopping onions.  This really does work, even if it scares the children.  And, with all that onion chopping I managed to make a meal for a mom with a new baby, made dinner for our family AND got a crock pot stew cooking for 10 hours that was dinner for the next day, sweet!

Finally . . .

Had the first of two potentially exciting auditions this week.  I auditioned for a chorus of 32 singers (8 per section, soprano, alto, tenor bass) that will be flown with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra to NYC for a performance in Carnegie Hall.  They're covering all plane and hotel expenses even!  I mention that because quite often, us choristers are just sooooo excited to perform with this quality of orchestra, in such a venue as Carnegie Hall, that...shhhhhhhh...we'd typically pay for it ourselves.   So, one audition down and one to go.  The next one is a real long shot.  I'll keep you posted...
