The 100IM . . .

I decided it might be fun to see what it looks like for a recreational-competitve swimmer (is that an oxymoron? Ha!) to swim a 100IM and then to see Michael Phelps swim a 100 IM. I'm not sure why I thought that might be fun...but I did.

And, since the house is completely empty right now, and I'm supposed to be cleaning, it sounded even more fun!!!

So, the 100IM is 25 yards each of these strokes; fly, back, breast, free. And what astounds me the most watching my video (which was taken by Ben...next time I told him to pull out a bit with that zoom lens!) is how I appear to just be out for a pleasant "stroll" so to speak, whereas I felt like I was going to lose a lung and clung to the side of the pool at the end in such a way that someone asked, "you o.k.?" Hahaha! Also, note to self...STRAIGHTEN OUT YOUR BACKSTROKE! O.k., let's take a look...

(Which btw, I just did a little sleuthing and M.P. won every IM race in that Berlin meet in 2011. The 100, the 200 and the 400, wow! My goal next year is to be able to compete in the 400, yikes!)

Hey, that's fine. I've got a little work cut out for me. I think I need to add in the arm flapping right before take off that is for sure!!

Now, off to finally put all the Christmas boxes away since Easter is over.

Yeah, that's right. Don't' judge me...last year I think I wrote that in July!
