Well, that only took me FOUR HOURS!!! . . .

But at least the kid's book report/commercial is done!

(Hit full screen and see if it's clear enough to watch)

H's February book report (he has one every month) was to "sell the book" in some form or another. With a poster, music, video...whatever, "be creative" she said. Well, being newly self-"trained" in iMovie I asked if he'd like to film a commercial. There was NO WAY I thought he'd agree to it...he despises pictures. Of course, I evidently don't know my own kids...he gave a hearty and eager reply of "YES" to my proposal. The above clip is the product of how I spent my late afternoon and evening with the boy. Take after retake...upload problems...freezing frames...oh my...
and, p.s. the "seen" in his list of characters is probably Sean!

If he gets even 1/2 a point lower than full credit, I'm not quite sure what'll happen!
(-:

In the end though, it's sure going to be fun to look back on when he's older.

Cool! The four hours working on your son's report made me laugh. I find myself working with the kids a great deal on their projects too. We also have monthly ones. I always wonder if I "help" too much. I don't remember my parents helping me as much as I do the kids....

I hear ya, Erin. For the most part I try to keep a 70/30% ratio of kid work/parent work on projects, though I'm sure some of them eek closer to 60/40, 50/50. (-: This one however was supposed to just be a little book report which I thought for sure he'd just chose the "make a poster board" commercial. But, he had to surprise me by willing to let me take video of him. Once I did that I was stuck trying to compile it into iMovie, and that's where my grand plan fell apart since I'm still learning that program. In the end though, I've learned even more about iMovie and we have a cute video to boot!
