There's our trooper with his new birthday bike. Yesterday, as I was four aisles away from buying his chosen birthday party dinner (bosco sticks), I got a call from the school. "Harrison's been rubbing his eye for a good part of the day and needs to be picked up." Turns out we have our first ever go at pink eye! Our boy had to miss school today and his planned after-school birthday party was cancelled. He made it through the day pretty well though because in addition to the bike he also got a Nintendo DS (you see at this age a bike from Value World...another HUGE score...and a DS from Craigslist are totally unnoticeable). So, a day off school to play DS with just an itchy eye probably was a happy birthday after all.
G-ma & Poppie dropped a cake and a few "happies" off in the afternoon to brighten his day a bit. We enjoyed the cake later that night as a family but that afternoon we were introduced to the HEXBUG NANO, one of his gifts. Check that link, they are hysterical!
