Happy 40th Birthday, SP!

One year ago I thought of surprising SP for his 40th birthday with a concert...a concert where he was the main event that is. Last night was the culmination of my plans (and loads of help from family) and he gave an amazing concert at the Kerrytown Concert House!

1st song of the night

last song of the night

It was something to pull this together under his radar (my nose should be about five feet long right now) and then we had the threat of an ice storm the night before...couldn't fall asleep until almost 2a.m. because of that...but it all worked out. Of course the big question was, is he really going to like singing in front of everyone on the spot? Yikes, I took a bit of a gamble on that one (a pretty big one, eh? (-:), but he did it. No evidence of even an ounce of nerves. We did lots of practicing together over these last months (though, last January I told myself I'd have a year to practice, how do you think that worked out? (-:) under the guise of playing/singing for family sometime, so he was ready. Good time!

So, what do we do for the 50th?...Carnegie Hall???
