You see...and I'm sure you've noticed...I've been a bit negligent in getting to the good ol' blog to post the many posts I have rattling around on my phone. So finally, on Independence Day, I'm getting my two sets of graduates pictures and graduations up...and I do believe they likely consider those moments Independence Days of their own! So...perfect timing!
(-:
On June 6th this fantastic guy graduated from 8th grade!
Little blurry but just look a that solid moment!
This was their class verse that I was trying to rearrange for a pic and a mom thought it in itself was a cute pic. I do too. (-:
Couple of good buddies from 1st-8th grade and now going on to high school together...most likely...still not 100% resolved since our crazy family continues to have rather mind-blowing experiences to work through...but that is for a blog that isn't "considering it pure joy..."
These three have gone from 1/2 day kindergarten through 8th grade together. The middle gal was Livia's chapel buddy this year and Livia loved, loved, loved her. The middle gal gave Harrison a punch in the nose on the 1/2 day Kindergarten bus ride home nine years ago and they've pretty much continued on in the same track every year after. I for one have always loved her energy...(-:
O.K....Then on June 7th . . .
This amazing gal got on a cap and gown that I would just NOT have expected to have been put on just like that, in a blink of an eye, in this yard of all places...where she learned to ride a bike when she was four...like wasn't it just five years ago or something??!!
And then, after agreeing to the photo in the yard, which for some reason I didn't put here, she dashed off in a flurry dressed in a dress I wore either in high school or early college, but I'm pretty sure high school. She wore that under her graduation gown! I'm sorry but...how cool is that?? I didn't even have anything to do with it other than having given her the dress some odd years ago and it having hung in her closet, not worn, until this night!
Well, I'm not sure what's happening with the layout but this is already taken me an hour to get this much so off we go. We'll see if this video posts or not, couldn't get it centered that's for sure. Big high school graduation held at one of the local colleges. Funny note was at the June 6th graduation the graduates were told it's not all about them and then on June 7th they were told it was all about them...I got a kick out of that stark contrast...small Lutheran school/Large liberal HS...
And there she is...one of 69 students out of 350-ish to have maintained a 3.9 or better for all four years. Way to go, Lara!! Spectacular! That dedication and commitment has earned her the top academic scholarship where she'll move on to studying aviation and work towards becoming a pilot! Wow!
Awww...be still my heart...
💚
Now...the other Independence Day . . .
This year we started off with the Salute to America fireworks at Greenfield Village due to some free tickets coming our way along with early bird discounts for the non-free ticket holders. What a treat, we've gone maybe three other times in the last 10 or so years and I love this one the best. The orchestra plays, beautiful surroundings, food, games and even old-timey baseball players hanging around.
We also had quite the fireworks show from some neighbors across and through the trees the street a few nights ago, a 4th of July parade today that we all agreed was pretty boring, minus the two marching bands I continued to add...gonna need to find a good one, around here they're way to politicized and have a bunch of clubs and groups walking through, enjoyed some time at the lake tonight where I brought a grilled salmon, mushrooms and green onions (kinda just through some things on the grill I and the older two like and headed out at 7:50p.m. for an hour swim), then ended up with the sparklers at 10:00p.m. after showers.
So, when you throw in bedtime book (we're currently reading, "Terrible, Horrible, Edie" together), songs and prayers...then, moving pictures from phone to email to then download and save over to the desktop because my computer's still unresolved, and finding some pics that were sent to me in a text and finding some pics already in my iphoto library, and then posting and writing all this amazing text, haha...we're now looking at 12:45a.m. and I have to get up and go to work tomorrow morning...
But, Independence Day it is and I'm glad I got all this up!
I've got garden pics, end of the school year pics, and gee, just loads more I wish I could just put on up, but the hours and energy are limited right now. One of these days...
...............
Then....I pushed "publish" and realized again that pit in the stomach moment that I only was able to show four of the kids moving through our adventures and moments, so I thought we'd look back, even thought it's hard still, to another 4th of July and remember a moment with Ben
