Let the growing season begin! . . .

Finally got some sugar snap peas in the ground in April, whoo-hoo!  Here are some sprouts around May 3rd-ish.  I planted them all over my yard, the first ones up were in these little green garden boxes.

I've never used those green boxes like this before but I was in the mood for lots of peas so there are long rows in each green box, to the back of each raised bed, near a lattice in my yard and in my side flower garden. Haven't seen any coming up near the lattice as of yesterday, nor my flower garden, but the garden above has them coming in nicely...except where my brilliant "greenhouse" glass panes are, nothing!  Why is that exactly?  Well, because I put the nice, warming glasses on the glass box and then never attend to them again.  So, they never get any rain or air, they just get baked by the magnifying glass.  I'm not prepared enough for greenhouse making. (-:

This was yesterday, I think...maybe two days ago...(-;
Coming along nicely!

Lara's confirmation flox is coming up for the second year, yay!
I got a plant for Ben's confirmation too, just can't remember it right now.
I've been waiting to plant it since we still get a few cold snap nights here and there.
Liv and I also threw some spinach seeds in this past weekend. They could have gone in with the peas I bet but, ya know...

T minus 7 days until I attempt yet another summer at the early morning, outdoor summer swimming extravaganza. I really, really, really feel like I want to stay solid with it this summer and maybe even do three days a week, up from my standard...but not stable...2 days each week.  Last summer I ended up making about 2 days a week but chose the evening sessions.  While they were nice enough, it's hard to fit in with the family and doesn't give you that great thrust for the day like the morning.  Every year it's this game with my head.  As soon as the calendar turns to May my brain starts chattering away with itself about this swim.  Here's hoping for a great summer of swimming!
