The life of an opera chorus member . . .

Let's just say, I'm not complaining!

My dressing room space. Chocolates compliments of our Saturday night Figaro, what a guy, eh? So fascinating being part of such a new to me type of performance.  The guy playing Figaro (we had two casts because the lead roles were very vocally challenging...ours,  not so much (-:) left a bag of dove chocolates and a lovely note in our dressing room to all us chorus ladies thanking us for a job well done. Awwww...

And this lovely courtyard scene was where I spent time during some performances. You see, I sang at the end of the first act and the end of the third act.  And, this being opera and all, that meant I had TWO HOURS between my entrances!!!  Can you even imagine??  You could watch a whole movie in that time, or walk around the summer festival (which I did one night), or make 1,000 VBS bracelets (which I did a few nights)...TWO HOURS...thats just between the 1st and 3rd acts mind you.  There still was all of the first act and the fourth act involved too, bringing the grand total running time to about three and a half hours!!  I didn't mention that to anyone considering buying tickets...heeheehee! But, after the purchase I did say that I wouldn't be offended if they left after my grand wedding scene at the end of the 3rd act...no one left, WOW!!
