Summer Cuts . . .

Oh how I had hoped to do some befores and afters.
Ah, well.
They had some long, moppy dos before they hit the barber chairs.
My clippers are on the blink so they got to go down to dad's shop over the last two weekends.
W & H went last weekend with my sweet little W becoming an unrecognizable big boy.
B went today.
And I'd say, since it was 96 degrees today, it's a good thing they lost the length!

And who might this be?

"Are you William?"
I'd say to him each time I'd pass.
To which he'd respond with a proud, big-boy grin
(-:

Naw, this is MY William.

Not this grown up lookin' boy with sunblock spiked hair who's about to leave his mamma for kindergarten in three short months!!!
("But I'll be home for lunch, mom. So that'll be good." he'd say)

I'll tell you what, it's a good thing we've got one more at home. For how tiring and exasperating it can be at times, I'm not ready for all of them to be gone to school all.day.long. Although, now that I type that, I think to myself about what I'll be typing come August after I've tried our tech-free July experiment. I might just ship all five off to Alaska!!!

Literally though, I am proposing a no computer/no t.v. (mostly no t.v., I'm thinking an occasional evening video will be fine) month this July at the house...parents included. I think it will be an interesting thing to try and the kids seem to be on board since I've heard them reference it a few times like it's just something that's happening and not that it's the worst thing they've ever heard of in their lives. Also, when we're out of our house, say the library or friends/family, they're free to use computers or watch t.v. So, we'll see how it goes.
