Can you believe? . . .

We've had an.oth.er Pinewood Derby?

Seems to me I was just blogging about this a month or two ago. Another year has flown by again. (-: This year, out of necessity with three cold boys out in the garage with SP, the boys got to be REALLY hands on in helping with their own cars. Much to their delight and no matter how they make it down the track, that's how I think it should be anyway. I love the story of SP explaining how to hold the paint can 12 inches from their cars and to move their hand in a steady swipe, only to turn around and see a boy with his can half an inch from the car, spraying full throttle with paint dripping in a downpour. Good times!

Ben's, "Blue Thunder"

Harrison's (check back for the name, I forget (-:)
...Cobra!

William's, "Cheetah"
Although not officially a scout, he mixes in with the group quite often and was thrilled (to put it mildly!) to join in on the "open race."

He didn't have complete success (his fifth grade neighbor stomped him), but he did beat the "American Flag" in one of the heats. Whoo-hoo!!

So, no big winners going on to next week's championships, but the cars were done in time (you have no idea!), the kids got to actually work on them and a good time was had at the races. (psst...in my book, I'm a winner in not having to go to championships, not the most entertaining of events for a 16 month old!)
