O.K., I'm getting older . . .

But, do the kids REALLY have to act like this garage sale find is akin to an ancient discovery from King Tut's tomb!!!

Last weekend Lara and I stopped at a church yard sale after picking strawberries and peas at a local farm. First surprise was that Lara exclaimed how she'd NEVER been to a garage sale before! (Thanks to my grandparents, I was a recognized garage-saler in the Detroit/Redford circuit by age 6!). Turned out we were at the sale when they started selling everything you could fit in a plastic grocery bag for $1...you would NOT believe how much one can fit in a plastic grocery bag...including a
ROTARY PHONE!

At the garage sale I taught Lara how to work this odd piece of technology and she in turn graciously taught her brothers.

Their fascination cracks me up!

I picked a peck of peas!
(amazing how small a peck of peas looks in a large farm field and how huge a peck of peas looks in your kitchen, needing to be cleaned and preserved some how!)

I will be so surprised if he wants to play the drums when he gets older.
(look at that concentration!)

Well...then again...maybe not so surprised!

Finally, have a great weekend and put a little spring in your step by checking out some Perez Prado over in the playlist (my latest, "help me clean the house" music).
